OFFICIAL RULES & POLICIES

· All players must wear full-face protection in accordance with Quebec provincial law. Spares who show up to play without full face protection will not be permitted to play;

· Players must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age as of September 1st to be eligible to play;

· Each game will consist of a two minute warm up and two (2) twenty-two minute periods;

· The last two minutes of the second period will be stop time if the goal differential is two or less;

· Line changes are to be made during play (on the fly) only. Changes are permitted at stoppages of play only in the following three scenarios:
1) When a goal is scored.
2) When a penalty is called.
3) During a called icing.
Any team breaking this rule may be assessed a two (2:30) minute bench minor;

· Penalties are two (2:30) minutes duration, if a goal is scored the players penalty is over;

· Players assessed three (3) minor penalties during the same game will be ejected from that game;

· Players accumulating thirty (30) minutes in penalties will be assessed a one (1) game suspension. After the initial suspension, a one-game suspension will be assessed for every 3 penalties that player accumulates (37.5min. , 45min. , 52.5min. , etc….). The suspension will carry over into the post-season if need be. Upon completion of the regular season, all penalty minutes are wiped clean and the same cumulative rule above applies. Since major penalties carry their own suspensions, major penalty minutes will not count towards this rule;

· Fighting is strictly prohibited in the PCIHL. Any player incurring a fighting or other major penalty will be suspended for a minimum of one game. A second offence may result in the player being ejected from the league for the remainder of the season, without a refund;

· If a player is suspended for any reason, that players team may not replace him with a spare;
· Any team fielding an ineligible player or spare (see below) will forfeit that game;

· In case of player absence, team captains are to contact the committee member in charge of spares (if that person is unreachable, another committee member is to be contacted). A suitable replacement of equal caliber will then be substituted from the central spare list. Any team fielding an ineligible spare will forfeit that game by a score of 5-0;

· In case of player season ending injury, the team will be allowed an approved replacement player during the regular season. Replacement players will not be allowed in the playoffs. Once a player has been replaced, the player cannot come back.;

· Any team fiedling a team with less then 8 players without attemping to get spare throught the committee member in charge of spares will forfeit that game by a score of 5-0;
